Biography

I am an associate attorney at Jester Gibson & Moore, LLP, where my practice focuses on representing employees and advising employers on their duties to employees. As examples, since joining JGM, I have represented individuals and businesses in lawsuits and arbitration hearings on trade secret, non-competition, and whistleblower actions; negotiated settlements for employees in disputes with their employers; and brought charges of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation with the Colorado Civil Rights Division and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. I also draft employee handbooks and agreements, and counsel employers on all of these topics and more, such as paid leave and COVID-related matters. Besides my employment practice, I represent clients in a variety of civil litigation proceedings, including business matters and real estate. Often, I consult and assist clients with reaching resolutions before litigation begins, through negotiation and mediation.

I have built my career on protecting civil rights. During law school, I worked with the ACLU of Colorado and Killmer, Lane and Newman, LLP, on cases spanning Constitutional and statutory rights, including: free speech, search and seizure, due process and access to justice, civil asset forfeiture, discrimination, and wage issues. After graduating from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law with honors, a certificate in Constitutional Rights and Remedies, and Public Good Distinction, I served as a law clerk to the Hon. Robert L. McGahey, Jr. in Colorado's 2nd Judicial District. While clerking on an exclusively civil docket, I participated in two dozen trials and hearings and worked on all types of disputes, from medical malpractice to civil rights to appeals from administrative agencies.
